Language Policy

Tuition Language

The tuition language of the programme is English. The application procedure requires students to prove an English proficiency corresponding to a score of at least 577 in the paper-based TOEFL, or any level equivalent to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFRL).

Local Languages

Students are expected to reach level A2 or higher in French. They can, if they so choose, attend French courses for non-francophone students, organised by ULB, during the summer preceding their enrollment in the programme.

During each of the first two semesters, the Humanities module includes lessons on French as a foreign language as well as local culture.  Students spending the third semester in Berlin or Barcelona will be offered local language courses during that time.

While most internship-offering institutions have English-speaking workforces, students will be offered courses in the local language during the semester preceding their internship, to facilitate their integration in the organization. Each partner will be responsible for assessing the language skills of the students.

Language Skills Certificate

Europass

Upon completion of the programme, students are awarded a Europass language certificate recording their language skills.
